The Les Miserables Drinking Game

Hello my friends! I've seen Les Miserables 19 times now (Yes that's right, 19 TIMES!) and during some of my many many viewings my mind wandered a bit and i concocted a drinking game for the film!

(I don't feel like 19 times was enough, i could have seen it more times if only actual life stuff hadn't gotten in the way! Stupid life!)

Anyway, how do you play The Les Miserables drinking game i hear you cry! First of all, stop crying and read the rules as follows.

 

You  will need:

1. A large room with a TV or projector. For example a living room, lounge, church hall, oil rig, abandoned factory, a cabin in the woods, where ever you can gather a bunch of your friends together will work just fine.
2. A copy of the 2013 movie. Either use a DVD, stream it through your TV or computer, download it illegally (I'm not here to judge!) however you get hold of it is not important, the game is made for that film in particular though.
3. ALCOHOL! Lots of alcohol! You can use shots of whatever you like or glasses of beer, i prefer beer myself. If you're playing with under 18's (Again, I'm not here to judge!) You could use sweets. Jelly beans or Jelly babies work quite well.

The Rules:

You must take a sip or shot of your drink of choice/eat a sweet whenever one of the following happens on screen.

• The number 24601 is mentioned
• Jean Valjean mentions God
• The candlesticks appear
• Someone gets a letter, or steals a letter from someone else
• Javert stands precariously on the edge of a building or similar structure
• The Thenardiers steal something (I'd advise you not to drink shots for this rule, you could die!)
• Thenardier gets Cosettes name wrong
• Eponine laments over the fact Marius doesn't love her
•  Marius acts like a sane rational human being........(Oh wait, sorry....that one wont work will it? Because that never fucking happens in the whole movie!!! Marius is such a twat!!! Ahem...excuse me, I just hate him so much!)
• General Lamarque is mentioned
• Marius's Grandfather appears
• Someone mentions the colour Red
• Someone mentions the colour Black

In addition to those you must finish an entire glass of your drink whenever one the following happens

• The Bishop appears (Because he's awesome and lets be honest none of the story would have happened without him.)
• Fantine sings "I Dreamed A Dream" (Because Anne Hathaway won an Oscar for her role in this film and you will honour her Godammit!)
• Someone dies (This can apply to main characters only or if you're brave you can drink whenever anyone at all dies)
• Whenever you see an elephant or a cow :D
